Wetlands (swamps, marshes and bogs) help reduce climate change impacts by storing carbon and reduce the risks of extreme weather events like droughts or floods. We rely on wetlands to sustain our food, water and surrounding landscape.
Wetlands are home to many species who cannot live anywhere else. Over 500 species rely on Canada’s wetlands for food or shelter, but 70% of Canada’s wetlands have been lost in developed areas.
Duck’s Unlimited Canada has conserved over 1.5 million acres of wetland in Manitoba and maintains the Harry J. Enns Wetland Discovery Centre at Oak Hammock Marsh. The newly renovated centre celebrates the beauty and importance of Canada’s wetlands by connecting visitors with the natural world around them through interactive displays and hands-on learning experiences.

Creating pathways to safe, affordable housing
